Other Rules

  • 20 overs of each innings must be completed within 90 minutes, 5 to 7 minutes allocated for change over between each innings.
  • Reporting time is 30 minutes before the match time.
  • Fielding substitutes will only be allowed in case of any on ground injury at the discretion of on-field umpires.
  • The player who has been out of the field for any reason, cannot bowl for the number of overs he was out of the field of play.
  • One new ball shall be used at the start of each innings.
  • During league round, if the match is washed out (without a ball being bowled), 1 point will be given to both the teams. In case, if the match is stopped due to any unforeseen circumstances then Duckworth – Lewis method will be used to determine the winner (provided minimum 5 overs are bowled in both the innings).
  • During knock outs, there will be a reserve day in case of a complete washout. Venue, date & time will be decided by the organising committee. In case, if the match is stopped due to any unforeseen circumstances then Duckworth – Lewis method will be used to determine the winner (provided minimum 5 overs are bowled in both the innings).
  • Organising committee will continuously be in touch with the umpires to make sure the innings are completed within 90 minutes for each innings. The decision of whether the team has caused the delay or not will be decided solely by the umpires present on the field.
  • A team can only play if there are minimum 6 players available on the ground. If there are less than 6 players than the opposite team will win the match by walk over.
  • At the instant of a delivery, there may not be more than 5 fieldsmen on the legside.
  • Not more than 2 fielders behind the batting crease on the leg side.
  • Captains are requested to follow the eligibility criteria, if any player is caught then the team will lose the points to the opposite team and captain will not be allowed to play next 3 matches of the tournament and the player would be disqualified immediately.
  • Squads of all the teams will be shared with everyone before the tournament starts. If any captain has any objection with any player, they can report to the organisers with proof.
  • Time Penalty- Penalty of runs and overs in case a team fails to bowl their quota of 20 overs in the given time Official time given per over is 4 minutes (as always) – umpires therefore permit 20x4= 80 minutes + 10 minutes for additional time wastage / injury / ball loss etc. = total 90 mins Consider a scenario where: Team A is batting and Team B is bowling- Team B fails to bowl their quota of 20 overs in 90 minutes and only bowls 18 overs Team B will bowl ALL 20 overs but while chasing they will get 18 overs ONLY and Team A will get 82 minutes to bowl (18X4 = 72 official and 10 minutes umpire-considered time) If Team A fails to bowl their quota of 18 overs in the given time then Team B will be awarded 10 runs per over multiplied by the number of short overs + their RR over the course of the entire innings up to that point.

For e.g. if Team B is chasing 170 in 18 overs, the score is 150 in 16 overs and team A fails to bowl their quota as mentioned in the point above then Team B will be awarded 10 runs multiplied by 2 (short overs) + 150/16 = 9.38 i.e. 20+9 = 29 runs as penalty, so the total score of Team B will be 150+29 = 179 runs in 18 overs. Hence Team B wins the match.
NRR is rounded off to the closest whole number e.g. 9.49 = 9 but 9.50 = 10. This gives no team an undue advantage.
The umpires will be informing both teams (on field captain + 2 batsmen) every 5 overs about the situation of over rate

Powerplay Field Restrictions:

  • For the first 6 overs, maximum 2 fielders must be outside the field restriction area.
  • If a team has all 11 players on field then, 2 fielders will be allowed outside the field restriction area.
  • If a team has only 10 players on field then, only 1 fielder will be allowed outside the field restriction area.
  • If a team has 9 players or less on field then, no fielders will be allowed outside the field restriction area.

Non-Power Play Overs Field Restrictions:

  • For the remaining overs, minimum 4 fielders must be inside the field restriction area (this does not include the wicketkeeper & bowler)
  • If a team has all 11 players on field then, max 5 fielders will be allowed outside the field restriction area.
  • If a team has only 10 players on field then, max 4 fielders will be allowed outside the field restriction area,
  • If a team has only 9 players on field then, max 3 fielders will be allowed outside the field restriction area.
  • If a team has only 8 players on field then, max 2 fielders will be allowed outside the field restriction area,
